I got this humidifier and for quite a while (8 months), it worked. I followed all the directions re maintenance. In less than a year, it has started making intermittent noise which sounds like the fan in it is doing something weird. In the interim, I found a cheaper and better humidifier like this at my local Target and the one I found at Target also offers greater control over the mist. When I purchased my Kaz, it was around $38 with tax and shipping. If the thing were $12 and you were not using it in a room where you are sleeping (so the noise won´t disturb), maybe it´s worth it but at this point, I would not get this particular humidifier again. I wrote the company. I don´t have a lot of confidence they´ll write me back with a useful or coherent reply (you know how that is). Be forewarned.. And summed up by saying DO NOT GET THIS HUMIDIFIER. Currently Kaz PersonalMist Ultrasonic Humidifier has an overall rating of 6 over 10.
