1) Tools & Hardware Home Improvement DELTA AP400 Shopmaster 1-Horsepower 650 CFM Vertical Bag Dust Collector, 120/240-Volt 1-Phase by Delta. Tnaks to Delta for stopping further distribution of this machine. Like some of the other owners who complained of seized motors, mine did the same. But I use my only very seldom so the machine was out of warranty when the motor burned up but it had less that 1 hour of use time on it. When I checked about replacing the motor I found it costs over $200. The machine didn´t cost that much. This was my first (and last) piece of Delta Equipment.¤

2) Tools & Hardware Home Improvement DELTA AP400 Shopmaster 1-Horsepower 650 CFM Vertical Bag Dust Collector, 120/240-Volt 1-Phase by Delta. This being my 1st dust collector, I did extensive research and read a ton of reviews. It is good for 1 machine at a time only, and I would not recommend using a longer hose than is supplied with it. There is just not enough air movement for a greater distance.
The top bag (30 microns) is a joke. With normal shop lighting you can actually see the dust being blown out into the air you´re supposed to be breathing!! This bag definitely should be replaced with a cannister from Wynn Environmental (#35A274BLOL) for an additional $95.00 cost. It´s worth the money for better health and a cleaner shop.
I have been using the Delta ambient air filter above the AP400 to try to contain the dust released, and it does help but, it is not the complete answer. You HAVE to reduce the dust coming from the AP400 much better than Delta sees fit.
Also, some reviews stated that the AP400 is quiet enough to allow "normal" conversations while standing by them. NO WAY!! This unit is loud, just not the same type of screaming noise a shop vac makes. I can not hear my table saw with the AP400 directly behind it. Maybe something is wrong but, I have yet to discover what. It also seems to creeate heat in my shop. I have A/C but, when running the dust collector for any length of time, the shop certainly gets warmer. (It´s only 9´X 18´)
With better dust control I would have given it 5 stars but adding the cost of a good filter is apparently not the path Delta wants to take.

3) Tools & Hardware Home Improvement DELTA AP400 Shopmaster 1-Horsepower 650 CFM Vertical Bag Dust Collector, 120/240-Volt 1-Phase by Delta. I´ve had this about a month and think it is great. My major piece of equipment is a radial arm saw and it beats the shop vac I was using hands down. I have plans of hooking it up to several small machines with blast gates. I´ll only be using one at a time and don´t think there will be any problems. The only negative I really have is the same as some other reviewers. The shipping stinks. If I had been home when the package arrived I would have refused it. To my surprise nothing was missing from the broken open box and other than a little scuffed paint there was no damage. While I like to scuff my own paint on a new item it wasn´t that bad. Although it isn´t Amazon´s fault that the box was torn up in transit it will make me think twice about ordering such a large item from them again.

So far I really like the machine.¤

4) Tools & Hardware Home Improvement DELTA AP400 Shopmaster 1-Horsepower 650 CFM Vertical Bag Dust Collector, 120/240-Volt 1-Phase by Delta. 30 micron bags this product uses makes it worthless for saws. It lets too much dust get through. Buy a collector with 5 micron or less bags or canister filter. The AP400 lets a lot of fine dust through the standard bags and blows it all around your workshop. I think this is a big health risk.

If you get this collector due to limited space or power requirements, throw out the original 30 micron bags. Replace them with Delta´s 5 micron bags, Penn State Industries (PSI) 1 micron bags, PSI canister, or Grizzly´s 5 micron bags or canister. Any 14.5 inch diameter dust collector bag or canister will work.

Works fine for a planers and jointers. They don´t generate fine dust.¤

5) Tools & Hardware Home Improvement DELTA AP400 Shopmaster 1-Horsepower 650 CFM Vertical Bag Dust Collector, 120/240-Volt 1-Phase by Delta. I have had the product for over a year. As noted by others the bag change is a problem (painful and dirty). I have a small shop area and this machine fit in space I had. I did add one of the separators that fit on a trash can and it worked fair for me. The bags seem to leave a little more fine duct in the shop than I wanted. I put on Penn State Industry oversized 1 micro bags which improved the working of the separator and the decreased the dust. All in all, a good choice for a small shop. I wish I had more room as I would put in a larger one as I have a large planer and this model is just a little undersized for it.¤

This is the perfect dust collection system for the home woodworker. It packs a powerful 1-horsepower motor and moves a maximum of 650 cubic feet of air every minute. Top and bottom collection bags mean you score a hefty 2.6 cubic feet of chip/dust capacity. When we ran this system, we were impressed by how quiet it is--a great advantage for the home woodworker. The 4-inch hose fits standard dust and chip chutes on tools like your jointer, table saw, and planer--the big names in sawdust manufacturing! The AP400 is a great choice for the average home woodworking shop because it´s mounted on such a small footprint--just 14 inches wide and 27 inches long--and it sits on four easy-glide wheels to move the system from one tool to another or into the corner for storage.
