1) Electronics CE HP HP39G Algebraic Graphing Calculator by Hewlett Packard. I am very pleased with my purchase. It was my first time to buy anything from Amazon so I was a little aprehensive. I am pleased I did. I got a great price and it was shipped very fast. Thank you!¤

2) Electronics CE HP HP39G Algebraic Graphing Calculator by Hewlett Packard. As a high school student the hp39/39/40 series seems to be the best around in this price range. Similarly priced TI models only have 32kb of memory, while th 39g has 232 available to its users. Ive been using the 39g for 2 years now, and its absolutely excellent. Many people have commented that its slow, and i agree, so the solution is to have a common scientific calculator for basic functions (esp fractions and RA trig...) and a greaphics for everything else. This is the quickest and best way of operating, and scientifics are only about $15. The PC connector cable is a must to 1. backup data and 2. download notes, aplets and games from the net. Also to create notes on the pc (heaps better than typing on calculator!). Um yeah, buy the hp39g (or actually, i would buy th3 recently released 39g+, which is the same but with a finance aplet and about 2-3x as fast, esp graphing)¤

3) Electronics CE HP HP39G Algebraic Graphing Calculator by Hewlett Packard. For me it was a choice between this calculator and a TI-83+. The fact is, this calculator has many more functions and is a lot more user freindly then a TI-83. For instance, unlike a TI-83 or TI-86 you can solve for x in an equation like 5=x^4+(x-3)^3. The HP39G divides each type of fuction into different "applets." There is one for stats, one for polar graphing, one for solving, and many others. The only bad news about it is that it´s slow. It seems to take about the same time to do a very complex equation as to do 1+1. Don´t worry though, you get used to the little delay-- it´s still completly worth getting this calculator. It´s cheap, there is plenty of games for it on the web, and it´s fully featured.¤

4) Electronics CE HP HP39G Algebraic Graphing Calculator by Hewlett Packard. 1) This calculator is slow. Any operations require a fraction of second for it to "think".
2) It only comes with very few e-lessons. No more e-lessions available from HP web sites.
3) The infrared port is useless. I couldn´t share data or programs with anyone. Very few people are using this calculator.
4) The cable which allow this calculator connects to PC sold seperately.¤

5) Electronics CE HP HP39G Algebraic Graphing Calculator by Hewlett Packard. ....

This calculator is really bad. it requires about 1/4 second delay for every simple calculation(e.g. 1+1=2, 2*2=4). it takes even longer for a more "complex" calculation (e^x, log, arctan...).

I´m am engr graduate student at Penn State. There are lots of HP equipments in my lab and they are great. I just can´t imagine how a HP graphing calculator can be so slow. ...

i give it 2 stars because it´s light and fancy. but if you are a serious calculator user, forget about this one.¤

6) Electronics CE HP HP39G Algebraic Graphing Calculator by Hewlett Packard. Combining excellent usability with powerful features, the Hewlett-Packard algebraic graphing calculator is ideal for students, ranging from middle school algebra all the way up to high school and college level. Don´t let the calculator´s slim design fool you. Although it´s compact and easy to slip in a pocket or desk drawer, the functions are meaty, and the high-contrast 131 x 64-pixel screen enables you to see more of your work.

Clearly designed for students, the calculator features a textbook mode allowing users to enter and view equations and expressions, electronic lessons adapted from textbook topics, and a split screen for side-by-side comparisons. And in the "Dang, that´s cool" category, the calculator even features an infrared port enabling students to send data, equations, notes, and e-lessons to study buddies (no cheating, though!). The HP396 can also be hooked up to your PC or even an overhead display unit.

The keyboard is relatively friendly, featuring big keys with soft edges and wide key spacing for better keystroke accuracy. It runs on three AAA batteries and includes a one-year warranty.¤
