1) Audio CD Music Klavierbuchlein for Wilhelm Friedemann Bach by Hanssler Classics. This is an excellent recording of the Klavierbuechlein vor Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, not to mention the only one (that I know of) to record the COMPLETE Klavierbuechlein. The "Little Keyboard Book for Wilhelm Friedemann Bach" (as it is called in English)was a teaching tool that J. S. Bach used initially used for and wrote for his firstborn son (who was nine at the time of composition), but later used for the other Bach children as well. It is arranged in order of complexity, and contains earlier versions of 11 preludes from WTC, book 1, and 29 of the 30 keyboard inventions, in addition to many works only found in the volume and 2 Bach transcriptions of works by other composers (the Suite BWV 824 A-Dur originally by Telemann, and a partita g-Moll by Gottfried Stoeltzel) and two organ chorales (BWV 690 and 753). Some of these were also included in the two notebooks for Bach´s second wife, Anna Magdelena. Joseph Payne´s interpretation is very unique, as well as the practice in the recording of switching between the harpsichord, clavichord, and organ.¤ Page Updated: Robert N.
