iPod shuffle - clip and go Clip it to your coin pocket or clip it to your bag, you’ll have instant access to music. And iPod shuffle’s anodized aluminum enclosure goes with absolutely everything. iPod shuffle is one of the smallest digital music player which lets you wear up to 240 songs in a clip. Got lots of songs in your iTunes library? No problem at all! iTunes automatically fill your iPod shuffle and get a new musical experience every time. When it’s time to sync, plug the included dock into your Mac or PC’s USB port and transfer your music from iTunes just by docking Apple iPod shuffle. iPod shuffle comes with an internal rechargable lithium-ion battery. On a full charge, you can listen to your music for up to 12 continuous hours. Because of the compact design, it may not be possible for the battery to be replaced by a consumer, if at all. Paying attention to just a few common sense pointers will pay off with a longer battery lifespan and battery life for your iPod. The most important thing is to keep your iPod out of the sun or a hot car (even the glove box). Heat will degrade your battery’s performance the most.
Apple roll out iPod Nano
The iPod mini´s color-screen replacement finally arrived in the new flash-based iPod nano player. The new iPod Nano includes flash memory rather than a hard drive, a smaller physical size, and a 1.467-inch screen. Pricing remained the same as the previous iPod minis but capacity fell to 2GB and 4GB. Apple is apparently counting on the smaller form factor and color screen as being enough to satiate consumers who might have wanted higher capacity.
Cost and availability of flash memory was the root of Apple´s decision to go with the smaller capacities.
Here is a list of iPod Nano 2 models x 2 colors and Peripherals:
iPod nano Lanyard Headphones conquer clutter with built-in earbuds that integrate the audio out with the lanyard itself. Just plug the lanyard into the dock connector, put it around your neck and you’re off. Its ingenious built-in earbuds conquer clutter by integrating the audio signal with the lanyard itself, so you get a streamlined look without all the extra wire. When you want to change songs or adjust volume, just look down: iPod nano is right there, always at the ready.
Oakley Sunglasses MP3
The Oakley Thump is everything that outdoorsy dudes and babes could ever want. As the world´s first digital audio eyewear, the Thump combines Oakley´s cool shades with an MP3 player, cleverly perched on its lightweight frame.
The earphones are integrated into the arms, so no wires will get in your way on a dirty road trip. Extend the pivoted earphones to fit your ear, or flip them over when you´re chatting. Oakley has custom-engineered the speakers for awesome sound quality. Expect deep booms from the most demanding sound tracks. There´s anti-pop and short circuit protection too, so no hissing whatsoever.
Controls are easy to learn. Just five buttons to select soundtracks and adjust volumes. The best part is, it only takes an hour for the battery metre to hit an 80 per cent charge-up. Transfer about 30 songs for the 128MB model from a Macintosh or PC over a USB 2.0 connection. As it is a flash memory player, there is absolutely no music skipping while you´re in the thick of the action.
Korean MP3 music players that sound good
Korea´s Mobiblu, for instance, has the DHH-100, a hard disk-based player and the DAH-1200, a flash memory player. Slightly smaller than a credit card and about three-quarters of an inch thick, the DHH-100 fits into the palm very snugly. Finished in metallic chrome and black, it has a rather industrial look.
The DAH-1200 is sexy in white with a silver trim and soft curves. It comes with a matching white data transfer cradle that lights up with a cool blue glow when plugged into the computer´s USB port. Other than storage capacity, both players have very similar features and functions. The DAH-1200 supports MP3, WMA and OGG formats. Besides digital audio playback, both players have FM radio functions. The DAH-1200 uses two rocker buttons that perform most of the functions. Both players have similar menu interfaces that are intuitive - I didn´t really have to refer to the manual to get started. The sound quality from both devices on the supplied earphones was good. A few predefined equalizer modes are provided if you want to customise the sound. Data transfer Windows XP automatically recognised them as external storage devices, and transferring files was just a matter of drag-and-drop.
DAH-1200 only supports USB1.1 and has a MultiMediaCard / Secure Digital card slot that can be used for quick data transfers. However, the transfer is a one-way data dump from the card to the player. No file selection can be made - all files on the card will be transferred once you initiate the copy process.

iPod Shuffle

Apple iPod Shuffle is a flash based MP3 player that come in 0.5GB and 1.0GB sizes, and can act as a USB 2.0 mass-storage device by taking off the cap on the bottom. It will have have no display as you can see, but it is interfaced with simple play / pause, volume up / down, track foward / back buttons, and a slider on the rear that engages the player and plays songs in order or shuffled. In that little 3.3 x 0.33 x 0.98-inch package you’ve also got a USB-rechargeable 12-hour battery. The whole thing weighs 0.78 ounces. Not too shabby for a flash player!

Apple iPod Shuffle comes with Lithium-ion batteries pack in a higher power density than Nickel-based batteries. This gives you a longer battery life in a lighter package, as Lithium is the lightest metal. You can also recharge a Lithium-ion battery whenever convenient.
iPod Shuffle Lithium-ion batteries use a fast charge to charge the device to 80% battery capacity, then switch to trickle charging. That’s about two hours charge time to power iPod to 80% capacity, then another two hours to fully charge iPod. Interestingly, a charge cycle means using all of the battery’s power, but that doesn’t necessarily mean a single charge. For instance, you could listen to your iPod for a few hours one day, using half its power, and then recharge it fully. If you did the same thing the next day, it would count as one charge cycle, not two.
Compare this to the older Nickel-based batteries - these older type of batteries requires full charge or discharge cycle necessary to keep Nickel-based batteries at peak performance. Also over time, crystals build up in older Nickel-based batteries and prevent you from charging them completely, necessitating an inconvenient full discharge.
