Rock is different from Rock and Roll.  Perhaps the most popular form of 20th-century music, a combination of African-American rhythms, urban blues, folk and country music of the rural South. It has developed since the early 1950s into hundreds of subgenres, each with its own audience, record labels and radio formats.  Rock music usually relied on heavily amplified electric instruments. The music ranges from faily simple ballads to songs that includes complicated guitar solos. Rock was also into many sub categories such as heavy metal and punk.

Gwen - Love. Angel. Music. Baby

Gwen Stefani released the cover art for her forthcoming solo debut album, Love, Angel, Music, Baby, on her official Web site. The album is due in stores November 23. Gwen recently completed filming the first video from her upcoming album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. The video for the single "What You Waiting For?" was shot in LA with director Francis Lawrence and the finishing touches are being put on it now.

All systems go for Duran Duran

New Romantic Rock Band Duran Duran, has already lifted off their new album "Astronaut". The early MTV darlings reunite their original lineup for the first time in 21 years, with production by Dallas Austin and Don Gilmore, among others.

The 80s band, who are enjoying a comeback following a sell-out tour earlier this year, visited the HMV store on Birmingham High Street to meet fans and sign copies of their new single Reach Up For The Sunrise, currently racing up the UK charts. Duran Duran wowed their fans when they made an appearance in their home city of Birmingham, in the English Midlands.
